Will Stanford throw out my application if one of my teachers has not mailed out his recommendation for me? As we all know, the RD deadline is January 1st, and our winter break ends on January 5th. I've been trying to get in touch with my teacher to remind him, and I'm really worried my application will be considered late if Stanford hasn't received it. I have to wait until the 5th before I can speak with him since I can't get in reach with him right now. This is seriously stressing me out. Thanks in advance!

Here’s what I read: “While there is no rush in getting your teachers and counselor to submit their materials to us before January 1, you should make an effort to finish your Common Application and Stanford Supplement well in advance of the deadline.” It came from this page: [Admission News : Stanford University](<a href=“Page Not Found : Stanford University”>Page Not Found : Stanford University) Scroll down to read the excerpt I typed above. My daughter is in the process of filling out her app. and has been in touch with her teacher and counselor. I just hope they know how to submit their recs. through the Common App. after she’s applied. I have no idea how this works. My daughter doesn’t seem concerned, though.

I applied SCEA and Stanford didn’t receive my teacher’s recommendation till late November (we’re not sure what happened to his first copy in transit, but he had to fax in a second copy late). I still got in.
