Late Transcripts or Slow Updating?

Some of the schools are not showing that they have not received my transcripts, while others have. I requested my transcripts over a month before the deadlines so there should have been enough time to arrive.

I know it takes time to update every application, and there is also winter break that further delays updates. Is it common that they update the applications this late? Should I go ahead and request additional transcripts to be safe?

How long since you have submitted your application? I requested my transcripts in mid November - way before I completed my applications - and the online status check has usually confirmed the receipt of my transcripts within 10 business days of the receipt of my application. (Exclude Dec 24 through Jan 2 because many offices were closed.)

I also understand how difficult it can be to be patient when so much is at stake. Personally, I would follow up (either call or re-request transcripts) if the application deadline was Dec 15 or earlier (since those programs might start reviewing applications now) or if they have had more than 2 weeks to process my documents after the application was submitted.

I submitted my applications on Dec. 15, and the transcripts were requested in early November. I’ll just wait a bit.

Well I personally mailed in my transcripts on the 22nd or 23rd, and some schools have updated the status to say they have them, some haven’t, but I wouldn’t worry about it until later in the week, as they would have been received during the holidays. Of course I sent in my transcripts for my schools with earlier applications long before, and there was no issue there.

Clemson’s graduate admissions office has a notice up to please not call for two weeks because they have a huge backlog of mail to be opened post-holidays. That’s probably a common theme elsewhere.
