Hello Guys,

I'm not sure if my transcripts will arrive with a postmark date of or before January 1st. Does anyone know whether Harvard will still look at my application if my transcripts are late?

Thanks

The postmark date is the date by which the stuff has to be mailed, not received. If they received that stuff on January 20th but it was postmarked (mailed) on December 29th, then you're perfectly fine (since they were postmarked before the 1st of January).

Yes, they will. Your piece has to be postmarked Jan 1 at the latest. The admissions committee is a lot more lenient with pieces that come from other people like your teachers, GCs or the registrar. Your file ost likely won't be read until all the pieces are there. So don't worry.

Thank you for the replies.
I was just worried because I told her to send transcripts, but I haven't been able to verify if she in fact sent them before break (she wouldn't answer my emails). I was concerned because she's kind of forgetful.

bump!
should i still send in transcripts after jan 1? or is it too late? Everything else is on time though…

Send them in… colleges are usually lenient about this sort of thing. As long as you submitted YOUR stuff in on time (commonapp and supplement), it shouldn’t be a problem.

okay, thank you so much!
