The University of Alabama’s normal business operations, activities and events will remain suspended throughout Monday. Normal business operations, activities and events will resume on Tuesday. Based on current conditions and predictions of the National Weather Service, the Tuscaloosa area should not receive additional significant precipitation during the day on Monday. While precipitation on the ground could thaw and refreeze overnight, warmer temperatures during the day and evening should mean that most roads in the Tuscaloosa area are passable Tuesday morning. Employees should check road conditions in their area before they travel to campus on Tuesday.

Residence halls remain open as scheduled. Orientation sessions are scheduled to begin at noon on Tuesday. Classes are expected to start as scheduled on Wednesday. Students should travel to campus only when they can do so safely. Employees should continue to follow their department’s business continuity plan on Monday, and monitor the UA home page and local media for updated information on the University’s status. Please continue to follow all directives of local and state law enforcement. Please use caution on steps and sidewalks as some areas may continue to be icy.
