<p>The first test in 2008 for high school class of 2008 applicants to Harvard (as an admission officer said at the Exploring College Options meeting in Minnesota this year). I suspect the same rule applies to most colleges with a January 1st application deadline. But if you have any doubt, look at the Web site of the specific college you are interested in.</p>
<p>if you actually want the scores before the deadline it would most likely be the december test.</p>
