Latest Possible Testing Date for SAT I's

Do most colleges/universities accept January's SAT I, assuming their application deadlines are all around Jan. 1-3? I know you all can't really give a definitive answer, seeing how each college's policies differ from the next's; but what's the general trend?

January testing is timely for many colleges with a regular admission round deadline of January 1st, but, as you know, you have to check with each college to be absolutely sure.

generally speaking, is this under the assumption that i'd "rush" my scores? thanks

That's figuring on regular delivery of scores. At the Exploring College Options meeting in my town in May 2007, the Harvard admission officer said that there is NO difference in delivery speed between "rush" score delivery and regular score delivery. She advised saving your money and just going with regular delivery of scores.

Many (majority of) colleges do not accept rush scores. As to whether the January score will be accepted, you really need to check the website of the particular colleges you intend to apply to. If you search hard enough in the admissions section of a college's site you will usually find a calendar of deadlines which will tell you the last test date they accept. You should not assume that any of the colleges you might want to apply to accept January scores unless you verify that fact first because there are many that do not take scores from tests as late as January.

ok, thank you both.

but man, college board really comes across as a sleazy organization. so much for not-for-profit...
