Latin 1&2 in a summer?

hello, I’m planning to take AP art history, French 2, and Latin 1 this summer. my reason for each class is an intrinsic motivation, as I absolutely LOVE languages as well as art history. French 1 was a pushover class, and I self taught myself the basic equivalent to German 1 in freshman year.

I do not want to be a linguist, so don’t mention that lol. I just really love languages and Latin will help me in historical texts. I really love the Latin and French languages, however I am wondering if I could pull off Latin 1&2 in one summer? I completed almost 2 modules of French 2 in less than a week, but I had to drop the course during the school year to make room for studying. However, since I am taking summer courses, I was curious if it might be wise to shoot for both Latin 1&2. I want to continue taking French until level 4, and I would love to do the same with Latin. do you think it’s possible to get Latin 1&2 into a summer?
(also my school does not offer Latin or French. we only offer Spanish and the classes are always full).

Latin student here. Honestly, depends on what program you use, how good with languages you are. I use Henley, and there is no way I could get their levels 1 and 2 done in one summer. Also, with Latin, there a lot of verb conjugations to memorize, five different declensions of nouns, usually around four principle parts per verb. I’m not trying to be discouraging, just trying to give you a realistic idea of what you could be taking on. If you want to do it, I suggest getting a good grammar book.

@Honeyraven don’t worry, I totally understand! it was kind of a shot in the dark because I know it would be very hard to get both done in 3 months, so I’ll probably just do 1. I want to self study AP French and I was only interested in Latin because FLVS offers Latin 1-3. do you think an online school like that would provide me with the material I want and need for this class? their French program is pretty good, and I heard their Chinese was too.
