Latin Honors

When are we supposed to find out about Latin Honors?? I'm graduating May 18. Are our final semester grades included in the count for latin honors? At the end of this semester, my GPA will be 0.004 away from Summa Cum Laude, and it would be really nice to have it for grad school apps.

That’s probably a better question for your advisor than this forum. A quick email would give you a definite answer better than any speculation here could.

Yes, last semester grades are the deciding factor of whether or not you meet the requirements for latin honors. Based on your Fall 2010 grades, the university will project that you will meet Cum Laude and your name will be printed in the graduation booklet. However, this does not guarantee that you will receive that honor on your physical diploma if you mess up your last semester. So, you should be fine to graduate with Summa on your diploma, but you might not get your name printed under summa cum laude graduates - but that really doesn’t matter anyway
