Latin Honors?

<p>I know I'm looking pretty far ahead but I wanted to set my goals early. I was wondering if anyone knows the GPA requirements to graduate with a latin honor in the Business School. (Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude and Cum Laude). I know that it's different for all schools.</p>

<p>Also I know this is a difficult question to answer but, how hard is it to maintain a > 3.9 GPA in USC relative to high school?</p>

<p>It’s the same for all of the colleges at USC. I remember learning it in my U101 class.</p>

Graduation with Honors</p>

<p>Graduation with honors will be based on a cumulative GPA calculated on the basis of all work for college credit, including any attempted at other institutions at any time. This calculation will include all courses attempted, not just those submitted in fulfillment of graduation requirements. Honors designators are determined at the time of graduation and may not be applied retroactively.
In addition, students with overall honors must show a GPA at USC which meets the level specified for the honors being sought.</p>

<p>The following designations indicate a consistently high level of academic achievement throughout the student’s entire academic career. To graduate with such honors, a student must have earned at least 60 credit hours applicable toward the degree in residence at the University, 30 credit hours for an associate degree. Courses taken by a transient student at other institutions, by correspondence, by examination, or by exemption are not considered “in residence.”</p>

<p>Summa Cum Laude: a cumulative GPA of 3.95-4.00</p>

<p>Magna Cum Laude: a cumulative GPA of 3.75-3.949</p>

<p>Cum Laude: a cumulative GPA of 3.50-3.749

<p>A 3.9? That’s going to be difficult at any college and really depends. If you’re int he Honors College, I would imagine it would be really difficult. If you’re not, I think it really depends on how prepared you come into college, the professors you get, and waht subjects you’re good at. If you major in something you’re naturally gifted at, it shouldn’t be too bad.</p>

<p>I know personally, I took several “hard” classes last semester, (French 300 level, Stat where the average grade was a C or below) but I found maintaining a 4.0 to be relatively easy compared to high school where my end unweighted GPA was about a 2.9. I just went to a very difficult high school.</p>
