Bump anyone?

If you are enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year level Latin class, I think you will be set. I took the Latin SAT II after a 3rd year class (although it was only my 2nd year of the language) and got an 800. If you know the grammar and are okay at sight-reading, you should do fine.

If you want to be overprepared, don’t get the REA book, but use:

1) Sally Davis’s intermediate prep book
2) Prose and poetry comp. tests which you can find on njcl.org on academic contests. These will overprepare you.
3) For the derivatives part of the SAT, always go to the genitive stem or the 4th PP of a verb…

ex:
tactile from taceo…tacitum (not taceo, as many think)
morsel from mordeo…morsum (not mors as many sometimes think)

Also, I think the test seems deceivingly easy sometimes. Some on this site will say you can get an 800 as they did after latin II or III, but these people probably self-studied or had better teachers than they thought. I took it first time after latin 3 to get 750. Took it last month and got an 800. I didn’t have very good teachers, but am an excellent latin student. SO, long story short, OVERPREPARE.

Thanks guys I guess I will just use my text book and study aids from my class. I was hoping for some kind of practice test…

You should use the resources I mentioned which are similar to a test.
