@obligatoryname Being a minority from NJ is not going to matter at out of state schools. Those states have plenty of minority students as residents. Plus being out of state means no money and harder admissions requirements.
Where it will matter the most are schools trying to diversify, like the elite liberal arts schools and many of the Catholic schools, which have traditionally been dominated by white students.
Colgate is fantastic. The campus is beautiful.
Personally, I would scrap all the state schools you listed and Wash U and lean on TCNJ and Rutgers as safeties and roll the dice on some liberal arts colleges where being a highly underrepresented Latino male matters. I would add Lafayette and St. Lawrence to that list. These two are easier to get into than the ones Iisted but really great schools.
