Latino trying to get into MD-College Park...

University of the Maryland - College Park is the only school I want to get into, so it's the only school I'm applying to. If I don't get accepted, I plan to just attend Montgomery College which is a community college and then, transfer into Maryland. Either way, I'm getting into Maryland, but I'd really, really like to get in, right after high school. So here's a little personal details about me: I'm an hispanic(dad comes from Colombia, mom from Peru) born and living in Maryland. My mother never attended college; my father attended Maryland, but dropped out and never got a degree. And he's been working as a postman and pizza delivery man, ever since. Also, my parents are divorced, I have a younger sister and an older brother(didn't go to college) and older sister (attends Montgomery College); and I come from a low-income family. Hopefully, that might help me a little bit, but from what I read about Maryland admissions, I heard it didn't matter that I'm Latino. So anyways, heres my academics. They're pretty bad compared to everybody who posts here lol, but w/e.

1st SAT: Critical Reading - 600 Math - 510 Writing - 450
2nd SAT: Critical Reading - 650 Math - 520 Writing - 540
3rd SAT: Critical Reading - 580 Math - 600 Writing - 530

Today, my friend told me they'll only look at the highest scores, so if thats true (hopefully, it is!!), then I got:

Critical Reading - 650 Math - 600 Writing - 540 = 1790 (dang, almost 1800!)

Moving on...

GPA: 2.98 WGPA: 3.60 (I know, it's bad!)

As for classes, throughout high school, I took all the classes that could be honors(except I didn't take Pre-Calculus w/ Analysis) and in 11th grade, I took one AP which was AP Environmental Science (4th science class, 3 are required for my HS) and I got a 3 on the AP Exam. Throughout 9th to 11th grade, I have taken 12 Honor Classes, 3 Advanced Level classes and one MD State Certificate of Merit class. My classes as of right now for this year are:

AP Lit & Comp
AP Spanish Language(This will make it 5 years of me taking a Foreign Language Class)
Sociology(Second semester)
Game Development
AP Computer Programming II
AP AB Calculus
International Business(First Semester)
Studio Art 1A(First Semester)

So right now, I'm taking 4 Advanced Level classes and 4 MD State Certificate of Merit classes. For second semester, I'm going to have one free period for 7th period. On my first quarter grades, I got a 3.14 GPA, so I did pretty good in all my classes except I got a C in Calculus. I got a B in the other AP classes.

As for ECs, I don't have any!! In 9th grade, I was in the Muslim Student Association(my best friend got me in it haha) and right now, I'm in something called the Achievement Minority Program. I think the program is stupid because they only allow minorities who are doing good in school such as myself to inform us about college and all the jazz, but they don't allow other minorities like some of my friends who are doing worse than me in. I really think they should be informed as well, but w/e, I put that in as one of my ECs. I know I should be ashamed of myself for not having any ECs!! haha

Oh yeah, for work, I worked at a grocery store during 10th grade and at Pizza Hut during 11th. So maybe my work experience can be considered.

Okay, so that about wraps up my High School career. So what do you people think are my chances of getting into MD-College Park? My friends think I can't, do you agree? MAN, THIS COLLEGE STUFF IS STRESSFUL!!! I want to get into Maryland soooo bad.

Please don't call yourself "Dumb Latino"

haha sorry, but looking back at how I handled high school and seeing everybody's amazing high school stats here, I don't know, it can sure make a guy feel pretty stupid.
