IMHO, Dr.Laude is the best CH 301 professor. Last year his class was full before the first orientation on the online registration system. However, hundreds of students emailed his assistant Judy Davis and they were added to the class. If you want Dr. Laude this upcoming semester you could probably be added into his class by emailing his assistant. IMHO, having Dr. laude as a professor greatly enhances your time at UT, and is a great experience.

seconded. That’s how i got in the class and he was my favorite teacher i’ve ever had.

Where can I find his assistants contact info?

How likely is it that I will be granted enrollment into Dr. Laude’s class?

everyone I know from last year who emailed got in

And how many people was that?

There were too many people to count. I think at least half of the class got in this way. Believe me. You really want to have this guy for chem. He is the best chem professor period. I was alway excited to go to class because he was so entertaining. If you gave me the option of going on an all expense paid trip around the world and going to a Dr. Laude lecture; I would go to the Dr. Laude lecture. Every other chem professor gives hard exams/midterms and try to weed students out of their class while Laude actually cares if you learn. Most of my friends who had other chem professors dropped out of premed. However, all of my friends who had Laude did great. I think Laude also understands that we also need to study for biology and calc so he doesn’t give us a heavy workload. He actually added 3 percentage points to everybody’s grade at the end of the semester through a very easy extra credit. If your grade was a 87, you would end up with a 90. All we had to do to earn the 3 points was to take a picture of one of our family members holding up a sign that said I love science and take a short 5 minute assessment . Also Laude gives away the highest grades. More then half of the people in our class for CH 301 and CH 302 got an “A”. Getting an “A” in CH 301 and CH 302 is very important because it will open doors for you and put you on the track to getting into med, dent, PA, opto, or pharm school. It is also very important to choose a professor which matches your learning style because one bad grade in a science class can keep you out of the med, dent, PA, opto, or pharm school. Also keep in mind that in the next couple of years it will continue to get harder. About five years ago the average GPA for an individual admitted to UT Houston Medical School was a 3.5. Now the average GPA is about a 3.76 .

I just emailed Mrs. Davis. Do you think I am too late? How many people are in Dr. Laude’s CH 301 cass?

~500, if you don’t get in from emailing, you should attend class the first couple days and talk to prof laude or his assistant after class about getting added

500 thats good. i’m liking my chances

by the way, do any of yall know anything about professor borden for bio 311c. i cant decide because my edu and other rating websites dont have anything on her. i dont know who to take for intro to bio. do y’all have anyone to reccomend (besides sathasivan or buskirk because im not going to have a change at getting into their classes)?

I’m taking Patterson for bio.

Well, I emailed Laude’s assistant and she hasn’t replied yet. How is this going to work? Will she reply back to me or not?

When did you email. If it was Thursday or later there is still hope.

I guess just be persistent. Let me know how it goes for you. I’ll do the same.

I got ahold of mrs Davis. She placed me on his waitlist. Is that what initially happened to you wolframalphamale?

I got in a week after I was placed on the waitlist

laude is the best professor…hope you get in off the waitlist

Who would you recommend for bio (excluding Buskirk and sathasivan)? I have Borden right now

It seems like Buskirk and Sathasivan are the only two easy Bio professors. I’m in Patterson’s class right now.
