laundry

I heard something about Michigan having a paid laundry servce. I could have been mislead by this information but if it is true how much does it cost and how does it exactly work?

what do you mean by a paid laundry service?

there are laundry machines in each dorm.. $1.00 for each wash load and 75 cents for the dyer. or you can just take your clothes to the dry cleaners all the time..

I think they mean the kind where people do your laundry for you...

If so, there's nothing official, just some stuff run by students. In any case, learn to do your own damn laundry, it's part of college =P.

It's a pain to have someone do your laundry for you. Some of my friends at Vanderbilt had it professionally done for like $3,000 a year. But if it's student run, it's probably cheaper. You really just want to do your own laundry, not worry about getting your laundry somewhere a certain time every week. And don't listen to those advertisements about how "the average college student spends such-and-such time doing laundry a year...think how much time you could have spent studying..." no one's going to steal your laundry, you don't have to wait in the laundry room.

I heard Harvard abolished student laundry services because it displayed economic equality among students...surprised Michigan hasn't, hehe.

I don't believe U-M offers anything "official" but yes, there are business in town that are oriented towards this.

You will hear about Michigan's laundry services, but that's because we have a huge hospital. They don't do student laundry.

Sigh I really sound stupid...its cool doing the washing and stuff , what about the ironing?:S
