LAW (interested in becoming an attorney) Programs/Internships for HS Students

Does anyone know of any with a deadline that has yet to pass?

How can you show your interest in becoming an attorney? I am in JSA.

If you are still in High School which I think you are the last thing on you're mind should be internships in the law field. Assuming that you will still want a career in law, which many will change their mind in four years, Internships are not nearly as important as in other fields such as medical or finance.

You should be out having fun and getting laid, do the best you can in HS, which is not as difficult as it sounds, and enjoy every moment. You shouldn't be worried about these things at least until your 1st or second year in undergrad.

There's another fairly recent post on this board about public law internships for a college freshman. It might be very helpful to you.

Also, I second stoneimmaculate in the fact that you don't need to worry about this yet. If you want to get involved b/c you're interested and you enjoy the field, that's one thing. If you want to show interest for college, then your efforts will be just as (and probably more) useful being channeled in other directions (reason being that law-related internships will probably have you sorting paperclips, while there are plenty of other valuable, admirable ECs that could give you a lot more responsibility and experience). If you want to show interest for law school, then don't worry about it, because they won't care (or know) what you did in high school.

But back to the first possibility, that you just enjoy law and want to find related ECs: MUN, debate, student government, volunteering at certain non-profits, mock elections, political letter writing or petitioning campaigns, etc. might all be good/interesting for you. If this isn't stuff that's available at your school or in your area, you could also forge your own related path, perhaps fundraising or gathering support for a legal non-profit.

If you happen to have any idea what kind of law most interests you, you could also work on finding a job, volunteering position, or EC that's related to that field, even if it isn't a legal position/organization.
