Law major at Cornell?

I'm pretty sure there is no law major at Cornell, but I came across this: http://www.arts.cornell.edu/career/majors/majors.asp
which is for CAS. There is a major called "law" under this section...can anyone explain to me what this is?

CAS is pretty much like a liberal arts college...any major can exist? :S sorry i cant give you much more advice than that..but thats cool, i never knew cornell had law degree...

yeah, it's quite baffling...

i think that website tells you about what you can do with that area of study. cornell also doesn't have a nursing major, and arts and sci obviously doesn't have an engineering major. but i do know that there is prelaw in arts and sci. if you're interested, you can get an advisor in that. you can also take a few law courses offered by the law school as an undergrad. i think there are two offered next semester. death penalty and environmental policy.

ILR is a great stepping stone if you're planning on going to law school

Look into ILR or Government (called Political Science at some schools)

There is a minor in CAS which is called 'Law and Society'; if you search for that on the Cornell website you will find a brochure about how to fulfill (4 law-related events and 4 relavent classes).
Many majors can lead to law (ILR/Gov't are popular, but I know an electrical engineer going to Harvard Law next fall), so don't feel pressured to be one of those. The career services office has a very nice booklet about the law program, and the prelaw advisor is very nice.

Thanks for the information...I was thinking an English major.
