Hi, I am freaking out because my internship at a hedge fund in NYC just got cancelled for coronavirus reasons. For context, I am a sophomore business, pre-law student at a top 23 university in the country (specific without being too vague). The way it looks right now, I am going to have a gap in my resume this summer because they canceled on me. Is this going to ruin my chances of going to a top law school?
Not familiar with “T23”…we definitely live in an era of lists.
To answer your question: NO; these are extraordinary times. Regrettably, many are joining you in the experience of having their plans held hostage by a virus.
And keep in mind that internships are great, but the keys to any successful LS application are GPA and LSAT.
Concur with old law. Law schools won’t care one iota about an internship with a hedge fund.
However, just don’t sit home (unless under state health orders). Perhaps volunteer at an animal shelter or do something else to aid society during thee tough times.
