Go to your career services office and look at the law school grids for your school. You will have a better idea as to how people from your school fare in the admissions process.

Cornell is an excellent school; I imagine that your 3.2 from there would get you further than a 3.2 from most universities. That said, it’s all GPA and LSAT.

What type of URM are you? It makes quite a large difference. (I don’t want to start an affirmative action war, but will tell anyone who is curious that the statistics for law school admissions and affirmative action are out there.)

I was also thinking about getting a masters in international studies at the CUNY Graduate Center. What do you guys think? Will it improve my chances?

Hispanic/black will help. The rest won’t. Don’t bother with the masters unless you get it free and have nothing better to do. I’d retake for that 172 and get a nice scholarship to a lower T14.

“I do not want to start an affirmative action debate, but will encourage anyone who is interested to google the readily-available statistics about law school admissions and affirmative action.” (Service Mark, AriesAthena.)

Cornell UG, 170 LSAT? Cambridge is a great city, but you might also want to think about going on scholarship to law school in Chicago or NYC.
