Obviously, Law schools consider GPA and LSAT scores, but I was wandering if they place a signifcant weight on the prestige of the college one attended?

.....anyone?

I believe that its like getting in to med. school-- If you have a great GPA and high LSATs, you'll have a good chance of getting in (as long as you went to a halfway decent school). Going to a prestigious undergrad school and doing poorly will get you nowhere.

Thanks. Do the UC schools count as half-way decent?

Cal's law school is ranked # 8 and UCLA is ranked # 15 (which should give you an edge being a ca resident). FIrst you need to get admitted to college, do well and get through undergrad, take the LSAT do well, apply and just let the process play it self out

Absolutely it matters. Go to a school the quality of a Louisville or a University of South Florida and want to get in Tier 1 law school? Unless you are a URM, you better be at the very top of your class. That is - the very top. Go to a challenging undergraduate institution, you need only be a very competent student.
