I try to find useful info here and I see the same question asked a thousand times. Keep this thread one the top, sticky it or something.

Agreed. One of the things the admissions people said when I visited Georgetown Law was that it does not matter what you major in, as long as you do quite well in it and take advantage of all the opportunities you can through that major. Really, folks, your major itself is of little consequence to law school admissions officers, according to several admissions committee members who spoke to a group of us at a law forum.

That said, the one major they said they hope you don't do is legal studies/pre-law.

i don't think it would look bad if u double or triple majored in legal studies though....with all the AP and community college credits i have going into college- i've calculated that i can easily major in Business, Political Science, Legal Studies, and have a minor in Public Policy....so.....hopefully with some diligence, ill be able to maintain a 3.7-3.9 GPA and get into a good law school :)

Georgetown is really GPA focused. Northwestern will account more for major than almost any other school will.

Geez, slim. Ya think that's enough there or should you tack on something else like, oh, molecular bio or biophysics? :p

What they don't tell you is that AP units generally don't do a lot for you except give you generic credit. I had 32 AP units coming in to college and that allowed me to skip one math class, the rest were generic credit. Colleges are wise to the AP system.

i agree with sohrab. People were telling me to go to UCLA instead of UCM if i wanted to go to a top law school. I chose UCM. Why? Because I can be the one top student to get in at UCM than be at UCLA where everybody is a genius and only 20 people get in out of hundreds applying. that's my opinion. take it or leave it :)

Good attitude Starry I wish you the best of luck :)
