Lawrence University visit

My neighbors and one of their Ds are alums. The other D started there, in the music conservatory. But here is one issue relating to the size: There was only one professor teaching her instrument, and she didn’t like him.

We went there for a Day At Lawrence session last week - I posted in the campus visit section. Loved it, as did D (of course she’s loved all the schools we’ve visited to date). D is really into music and theater, so having daily recitals and an active music/theater program is very important to her, although that will not be her major. The individualized seminar/one-on-one study opportunities available distinguished the offerings from the other schools on D’s list (it’s very hard to find distinguishing features in many of these schools) and was very appealing. While school was not in session, we really liked the students guides and everyone we came across was friendly and welcoming. Hope they can provide some good merit $!

I asked a Harvard Rep that is a friend what school she would consider sending her son too for college. She thought about it for a while and said “this little school called Lawrence University.”

After reading this thread, I am going to encourage my husband to fly our son out there for a visit.

He loves the band geek culture at his school and physics so might be a perfect fit. we will see…

There is a Lawrence forum on CC. Used to be some active parents on there, but I haven’t checked it in awhile.
