I recently received an email about how to access decisions on M9 from L’ville. That part was fine, but at the end of the email there was something like ‘thank you for letting us be part of the educational journey’ and ‘we hope that you were able to consider your educational future by learning about Lawrenceville.’ I read this and it feels like they have already rejected me. Did everyone get this email? Am I reading too much into this?
Honestly, I think so. I haven’t applied to L’ville though, so I don’t know if it is standard. But those are just my two cents - don’t get discouraged.
Everyone received this email as it was an automated response, however, I also got a follow up email saying that if I did not make an account I would not receive an admissions decision (even though I already made one several days earlier). Lawrenceville is notorious for being a little weird when it comes to admissions. Just look at their rejection letters from the past and you can tell they do not really use the best wording. Ultimately, I highly doubt that these two sentences are an indication of their admissions decision.
You received a template email with your name inserted after “Dear”. Whatever is in that email applies to every other applicant. So, unless L’ville is planning on rejecting all applicants, you are fine. Read nothing into the communications you receive over the next month, except what they explicitly want you to read. And read nothing into an absence of communication. Read a good book instead.
Rejection letters/emails always lack the best wording, which begins with “Congratulations!” IMO, I don’t think L’ville is alone or stands out as being particularly bad at it.
Yes. It’s a form letter. Even if you received a personalized communication, there are no tea leaves to be read before M9. Zip. Zilch. Nada.
Did anybody receive an email from Lawrenceville today regarding the way in which you will receive your decision on Sat?
@harlemgirl121
Yes, we received an email from L’ville yesterday re: portal login.
Did anyone receive the email about their confidentiality of financial information?
I received an email from Lawrenceville but they wanted to make sure our email information was up to date for M9, I was a little surprised because I thought that the admissions decisions was going to be through the portal… Now I am not sure.
@CC4life I spoke to them today and it will be on the portal at 9am. Best of luck to your family.
@Totorocinnamon03 yes. Info will still be on portal at 9am. Best of luck to you and your family
Thank you @harlemgirl121 good luck to u too!
.thank you so much. 3 days!! well taft is at midnight of the 8th so at least we will know about them first. Are you guys opening your decisions in any specific order?eg, reach, safety ?
I plan to open them as soon as they are available (first one is the Hill at 8 am). Four release at 9 am, so I’ll open those in order of preference, I think. Last one isn’t for another 24 hours at 9 am on the 10th. Could be a setup for an agonizing wait if the other five are rejections or waitlists. I wish they would all just release decisions at 9 am on the 9th. 46 hours and 46 minutes (but who’s counting)…
