<p>How to get a merit scholarship from Lawreceville? Do i need apply for financial aid? If I apply for financial aid, will my admission chance be lower?
I got SAT 2150. Haven't got SSAT yet. All A student. Good at math, chess. Plays tennis and squash but not outstanding so far. How much chance to get in Lawrenceville? </p>

<p>My rough “guesstimate”</p>

<li>apply as FULL PAY: ~double the school’s admit rate</li>
<li>apply for FINANCIAL AID: ~halve the school’s admit rate.</li>
</ul>
<p>Each school has an annual budget for FA. If u need a lot of FA as an applicant, but the pot is empty, then the school will not admit you.</p>
<p>In some schools, merit scholarships are simply awarded to nwely accepted students as a means of sweetening the pot to give very strong students incentive to choose that school. You can’t apply (your application to the school is your application for the merit scholarship.) These scholarships could be given to a full pay or a Financial Aid applicant. I have no idea of the particulars at Lawrenceville; why not give them a call if there is no information posted on the school website?</p>
