I want to become a corporate lawyer, but many people told me not to become a pre law major, so which major should i go to? I've heard politics and economics.

It sounds like most people say AVOID prelaw because they actually score the lowest on the LSATs… Those majoring in Physics, The Classics, and Philosophy score the highest… I’ll try and find that chart for you.

I’m a corporate lawyer, and I double majored in Accounting and Economics/Finance. I thought it was a very helpful background to have. Since law schools will be looking for a high GPA as well as high LSATs, you might want to major in something that interests you and in which you can do well.

Law school is mostly about high GPA and high LSAT. Prelaw is generally frowned upon though because it’s not a real major. Most schools I am familiar with do not offer it as an official major. MOst students looking to go into law school major in poly sci or history. You can major in anything and see people at all law schools who majored in engineering, business, science, etc.

Take whatever you will have the best GPA in (which is something you enjoy). All that matters for attending law school is GPA and LSAT score. See the law school forum for more on this.
