Laying down the Law. Chance me please.

What are my chances at ... Yale (and other schools, if you would like)?

I am really interested in majoring in applied sciences, as well as being involved with theatre and speech at the collegiate level. I know I have at least as good a chance as any, and if you don't feel like chancing me, could you at least suggest how I might improve in the coming months? THANKS!

High School Public
High School Type: rarely sends grads to top schools; in a semi-competitive state (not NJ, NY, MA, but not WY, or AL either)
Academics:
GPA - Unweighted 4.00
Class Rank: Tied for 1st (but the school's no Andover or Choate; try more rural-suburban backwater-unknown to HYPS-no Yalie since '02-kinda school)
Class Size: ~550

Scores:
SAT I Math 800
SAT I Critical Reading 800
SAT I Writing 800
ACT 34
SAT II Math Level 2 (IIC) 800; will take Chem, Physics, and World history in June and October (tests will be split up between the two testing dates)
APs: Calc BC, Physics B - 5s; Projected 2007: Chem - 5, Stats - 5, Euro - 4 or 5, Physics C - probably 5

Extracurriculars:
Class Council (1,2,3), National Honor Society (4), Science Olympiad (1,2,3,4), Quiz Bowl (1,2,3,4), Youth Symphony orchestra (1,3,4), Theatre (1,2,3,4), Forensics (1,2,3,4

Leadership positions:
Class Council President
Captain, Forensics
Quiz Bowl Co-Captain
Principal clarinetist, youth orchestra
Student Director, leads of school plays/musicals

Honors and Awards: NMS (for sure; PSAT score is 30 points higher than last year's state cutoff), will probably be AP Scholar of some sort; 3rd/4th in State Duo/Dramatic interp; state medalist in Scrambler, Fermi Questions, science olympiad; USNCO semifinalist; Hon. mention in state math competition; principal clarinetist in youth area orchestra, International Thespian Society (participation in every school dramatic performance since fall of freshman yr., including several leads), National French Exam Top 10 ranking

Summer activities:
Took linear algebra, number theory at state college; volunteering in the local township center; taught PSAT course for rising juniors; Boys' State

I know I'm kind of an oddball, participating -- on the one hand -- in SO, Quiz Bowl, and USNCO, while on the other hand also being heavily involved in theatre and forensics. I hope I can convey to the adcoms that I don't just do all these things for the resume; I should like to think I really do enjoy 1) estimating exponents and answering questions about the Council of Trent but also 2) fake crying and doing really cool blocking that arises from my convoluted imagination. So...chance me, please?

4.0
2400
and you are asking people your chances to yale....
DUHHHHHHH!?

i don't know lobgent. you seem to have a lot of variety to your game, which can help and hurt. although you haven't done anything ridiculously outstanding in any one specific area (although the theatre and forensics is truly impressive) I think that if you can convey your legitimate interest in all of your activities, then you're in good shape, especially at Yale where the humanities take on a more prominent role than at some of the other Ivies. Good luck, and I think you have a good chance.

no chance at something like MIT though. you'd be a complete joke.

Hey, f*** you phoenix. Troll boy.

jk jk.

Victor: pssst. No chance. You gotta be kidding me. Aww geeszzz. Whatta joke.

Goes to attend to his rice paddy.

AHEM, moving on.

ur the troll here Mr. lobgent

I don't even know you... So just get out of my face, allllright???!!! (Threatening face here).

Apologies for the previous (spam) posts. Bump.

is the 2400 superscored?

if not .. you are in a very small minority of college applicants! lucky you. i'd say your chances are better than most.

60% chance at Yale

Nope to mj93 -- it's from my first (and last) sitting on the new SAT. My only previous experience with the SAT was with the 1600 one in middle school, through a CTY sort of thing.

But 60%? Are you sure?

i wouldnt say 60%.
Your stats are perfect. And your EC's are good, but they are not stellar. Maybe if you won crazy state competitions, but you havent. I still hink you have a decent shot though.

...bump...

If you write good essays and get good recs, I can't see any reason Yale would have for rejecting you. You should really try to showcase your ECs and your personality though, because otherwise they'll think you do nothing but study all day =P

i'd say 90%. Class president, 2400? music?. Even at a school like Yale, I'm sure almost sure you're in.

Is taking an SAT more than once also considered super scoring?

That's the idea behind superscoring, medicalmania!

damn 1600 in middle school? THat is crazy. well done

but ye, great chances at anywhere

good lord. that's all i have to say. i'd say you're around a 60% shot at yale. don't put all your eggs in that basket, but you've got a better shot than most.
they see a lot of 2400's/4.0's. i would say if you had something different about you you'd have a better shot but i don't see any really interesting EC's.

since when does stud. council president not sound interesting?
