<p>SO right now I just have my essay, without my name or the date or anything else. No margin at the top, but just starts with an essay and keeps going... Shou.d I add my name and maybe other details, and if so, should I do so in the "header" perhaps???</p>
<p>I added my name and common app ID number as a footer (just like they have it on the app pages once you print preview), but it turns out they add that same footer once you upload your essay! So you can add your name if you want, but it should be taken care of for you.</p>
<p>you can preview the file after uploading it and you will notice that it does have a header with your info in it.
But you may of course add your own layout to make it look nice if you want.</p>

<p>Do not add your name or date like you would for a school assignment. The essay will become a part of your whole application and all your personal information including name is already in the app. The date of your essay is not relevant as long as you submit your apps by each school’s deadline.</p>
