Lbw 2012

@aimforthesky,
hey buddy chill out a bit…
no need to go on and attack other ppl for a thread post.

I go to a boarding school
gpa: 3.8
EC’s:
Anvil (school newspaper)
Finance Club (we got a generous donation (~100 grand) from an alumni and we use it to invest in the NYSE)
School tour guide
Walden House (nursing home)
Sports: Varsity Crew, JV Cross country
No ACTs
SAT I: ~2180 (average of two)
SAT II: 710 Chemistry, 740 Math I
Good recs… at least i think so
Essays were… ehh, could have done better/ spent more time

anyways, i think everything is due by now, so the long one month wait begins

hahah i think we should chill. Lols like i mean the acceptance rate is like 1/3 right? After you get use to staring at 10% acceptance rates for colleges 1/3 seems pretty good (:

^ word

I am assuming a lot of ppl or actually interested in wharton for college, and its acceptance rate is in fact single digit.

@aimforthesky I never asked for anyone to post all of their details… I said that everyone could simply post whether their grades and scores were above or below average if they wanted to do which I did. I then went on to say that those who wanted to add more could and that it would be greatly appreciated. Why are you such a jerk? You are the one who called us all nerds…

guys!!! let’s all be friends after all we are all going to end up spending our summers together :)

I am sure everyone has great stats otherwise you wouldn’t have applied! just be confident in yourself. we could just wait and get to know each other in the meantime!

Hey guys, worrying about which stats are good enough for LBW won’t matter now cause everything’s already been submitted. I’m sure all of you will do fine! And if you attend I’m guaranteeing that you’ll all be best friends by the end of the summer so don’t fight!

sorry guys im not like trying to attack anybody but it really bothers me when people try to get everybodys stats and then dont give their own.

alsoo im not nerdy (nerdy is a good thing) enough to be accepted sadly:(
no sat score, sub average gpa, great extracirriculars and teacher recs but thats not enough.

ill still keep my fingers crossed bc i feel like my XCs give me hope, however this is very competitive.

also, the other thing that gives me hope is generally people who go on CC are at the top of their game.
perhaps some of the less qualified people dont go on here at all, aren’t completely committed so wont search forums such as this, etc
anyway, good luck to everybody

i really wish the best for everybody, and may the most qualified get in  even you wcclirl444 :P

Did anyone else not do the “Why LBW” essay? I’m pretty sure the rest of my app is reasonably strong, but is not doing the optional essay going to kill me?

I did the “Why LBW” essay. I just talked about my visit and there and how the people I met were just incredible. Oh, and how I thought of this almost as a vacation instead of school because I love this kind of stuff so much. Anyone else?

Also, I agree… let’s all get along. Start over? (:

What do you guys think about starting a Facebook group? I think I might just make one now and anyone who wants to join it can. If I (or anyone else who joins) get rejected, we can at least see how much fun everyone else has haha

EDIT: Here it is! https://www.facebook.com/groups/WhartonLBW2012/

Here is what my research from previous years about stats.

As for the LBW essay. In general, when it’s optional that means you should do it for top schools. Read the book from Harry Bauld.

Has anyone received a decision yet? Reading through past threads it look like a lot of applicants received admissions decisions before April 6th…

@futurebizmajor - the apps were due three days ago, what do you think?

^^ lol
10char

They even told us like the exact hour that the results would be released. I’m pretty sure that they aren’t going to read through all 400 of them and make a decision in like 3 days haha.

do you think the fact that LBW would only be hosted in philly this year would affect many people’s decision of going?

@Brookie17

8%? O.O Wow. Mh. I’m glad it’s in philly! I’ve been to san-fransico and I just want to go to a new place!

I think Philly sounds perfectly cool to me!! I visited the campus last year and I think it would be great if we can spend one month in Philly!

Talking about sharing our stats, I think we all have the choice right? Some ppl luv to share their info with others but others prefer not to.

BTW my SAT is awful… Kinda regret submitting that now…

LOL. ^ i’m so you’re fine. Girl, you’re too modest (: I mean…isn’t 2400 common at ur school?

i’m not being modest dear… i do mean awful…

we don’t really have 2400 in our school… but one of my classmate got 2340 last oct…

he got 800 for CR which was amazing!!
