In the app i dont think there was a part you ask for a specific amount
did anyone here also apply for m&tsi? the confirmation date for lbw is 3 days before m&tsi acceptances are released
@hippopotamouse I also applied to m&tsi and it’s actually my first choice… so I emailed them to see if my decision can be expedited. But from scrolling through past years’ threads other people who faced the same situation (accepted into lbw and asked to expedite) all got rejected so I’m not hopeful… but I’m already satisfied that I’m in LBW haha.
@ZlatanLion the financial aid application asked how much your family would be contributing.
Oh ok. Seems i don’t remember that part. But i’d guess I was aiming for almost a full scholarship.
Congrats on getting a full scholarship. That’s amazing. Well done !
Hey yalll so I sent the admissions an email 2 days ago to confirm my attendance for the programme, but they still haven’t replied. (Apparently we have to confirm by April 6) Has anyone gotten a reply from them?
@yaoqian Congrats on your acceptance!! I should be seeing you in June. Your ECs look very impressive. Also how did you score that summer internship at a college lab? I am considering that too since LBW is kinda pricey.
@Borussia19 unfortunately I might not be the best example because I met the professor at an event and went directly up to him, then we negotiated over email. However, I know many (and I mean MANY) students in my school that simply sent emails to professors with the email on their university website and booked internships. I would suggest you look around, find a lab that you’re interested in, read over some of their work so you’re prepared, and just email them.
@Borussia19 I’m thinking of doing the same as well. I was accepted but I don’t think I will attend…I heard colleges prefer seeing internships and actual work experience anyway (also they don’t cost 7.5 k
@1255aj He told me it was not worth the price, very poor food, unnecessary overly competitive environment, and he felt he learned more at his internship with a college professor (apparently the professor’s recommendation ended up being worth gold when he was applying to colleges). Not sure how other people’s experiences at the program, but just wanted to offer his opinion in case anyone’s on the fence.
Can anyone help me decide between Wharton’s LBW and Yale’s Global Scholars program?
Thanks in advance for your help.
@NT32409 I would definitely say LBW! It’s more competive to get in and will give you more of a leg up for college apps, and is overall an amazing program. My friend who did YYGS last year didn’t think it was worth it
@NT32409 I think for some sessions of YYGS the schedule does not conflict with LBW so potentially you could go to both, but if you had to choose one I would say choose the one more to your interests. I don’t know what session you applied to for YYGS but LBW might not be that great if you’re not planning to pursue business. However, if you want to go to a business undergrad then LBW is def. the way to go. It is more selective and boosts your application just that much more. Just my opinion

Any suggestions for future applications?
@yaoqian can you let me know when they email you back?
@Angelinaai213 I received an email back from them. I confirmed that I would be attending, and they replied back with “Thanks for confirming and congratulations!”
@Sarcasticat May I ask when did you email the confirmation, and did you send in your payment yet? I emailed them Monday morning and haven’t received anything. Two of my friends who received anything both have sent in their payment, so I was wondering if it’s related to the payment. And I would love to add you to the fb group, just pmed you.
Any thoughts on whether to do Wharton LBW together with YYGS (both could fit in his schedule) or LaunchX (Penn campus)? S Trying to decide. All 3 offer something different that he’s interested in (business, engineering, entrepreneurship)…hard to decide…
@yaoqian I emailed my confirmation 2 days ago on April 2 and first received an automatic response. Then around 30 minutes after my email, I received a reply that said the above message. I got the reply before paying, but yes, I’ve sent in my payment. I payed the day after that. Yep, I got your PM! Thanks!
