Anyone applying to LBW? What are your stats? Any alumni here? Any tips?
I see there isn’t much discussion about LBW this year compared to other years.
Hi!. Im applying as well. these are my basic stats
gpa: 3.9/4 unweighted, and 5.23/6 weighted
AP: 4 on apush, and 5 on comp sci. taking bio, envi sci, calc ab, stat, lang, and apwh right now.
PSAT: 1470/1520
Awards: big ones mainly would be qualified for aime, got a 3., deca state
EC: boy scouts, right now life scout, was SPL before. In deca and debate. Also have helped on a app on learning with the blind for my brothers fll team, it got to top 3 in the world.
volunteering hrs: a bunch here and there.
Good luck to you too! Its just really weird that in previous years there have been super long chats for LBW but this year theres only like 2 discussions with <5 people commenting that they are interested in the program

Eca: Charity I setup, National debating team , writer at a very famous fitness magazine
Award: Math award top 5% world ,won Award in a competition sponsored by Wharton, Am international award for survival in very harsh conditions.

Hello! AIME is part of a bunch of math competitions. First is amc, then aime, then usamo, then mosp then IMO. I havent submitted yet as i really want to get my essays done better. I am writing about an experience at boy scouts. GL to you too and congratulations on your SAT and all of your awards! You seem so qualified!
Also huntsmann your stats look reallyy good. Charity, math, writer? wow and good test scores? and overseas? OMG don’t worry about this bud. @HunstsmanDream

ECs are good , although SAT is very weak and I don’t think being International has any advantages.

Courseload: AP: micro, macro, human geo, us history, calc ab, calc bc, gov, ap studio art, euro, physics A, lit, lang. (some of these I’m taking this year). Also taking multivariable calc this year. :B

Business - one business I created in middle school got almost $50k. my other business is now being commissioned by my school for fundraisers. my third business is entering in for JA company this year.
Viola - Minnesota Youth Symphonies top orchestra, various chamber and quartet groups, etc. U of M camp. First chair usually.
Social justice club - Founder. Super passionate about this. Like getting girls like me into tech & business, equal rights and opportunities for different races and social classes, etc.
^^ Not your typical asian who lives in a rock. I really look out for society <3
Awards: (these suck ***)
Art - x3 gold keys in scholastic art comp (5% win gold). + x2 grandprize in statefair (2-3 people per grade get it for the art competition at state fair)
Tennis - most influential + most improved x3 + leadership in tennis… Also tennis captain. Lastly ranked #14 in the state.
Science Olympiad - 1st at national invitational x3. OH and started a school-wide program: Scioly Snacks. (lol!)
Essay: wrote about my business
Essay x2: didn’t start yet.

Thanks, Your stast look very impressive! PSAT is pretty much the same level as my SAT ( 10 point difference on conversion), I guess it is better than nothing.
What impressed me were your ECS and awards!

Collecting $50k is impressive for middle school. What did you do exactly? What is your third business? W\hat’s JA ?
Are you applying for financial aid? I am not, the applications are way too long tbh.
Thanks! My ~$50k company was for Minecraft and my third business builds websites and apps. JA stands for junior achievement.
Should I write the names of the companies I created on my app?
Also I don’t think I’m applying for financial aid! I probably won’t have enough time to fill it out and I’m pretty sure there are much more deserving applicants that need this aid more than me. #50k

Oh yeah I looked through your post again, and what exactly is the international award for survival in very harsh conditions? Did you and others compete in the hunger games or something haha?
