Hello,
I got accepted into Loomis Chaffee as a member of the LC Scholar’s program. I understand that there are certain financial benefits and other opportunities that come with this designation, but what does it really mean? Does it really make you stand out and enhance your overall experience in the school? Are there any other benefits to being an LC Scholar? Most importantly, would this designation be big enough to make you choose Loomis if you would otherwise not choose Loomis?
Congratulations! My DD was also selected this year! We had a Zoom meeting with the head of the LC Scholar program and he answered all of our many questions. Have you reached out to the LC Scholar team? They were very helpful.
I can’t tell you whether it’s “enough” to choose Loomis if you would otherwise not choose Loomis. That really depends on how you feel about the other options you have. I will say that we were impressed by the cohort-feel and monthly meetings and mentorship that would come from being a scholar. Also, the nice perks like paid trip abroad, computer and books, etc… (the summer program – i’m guessing not happening, so we pulled it out of our decision-making).
Can somebody who got in tell me their stats? And also, Andover or LC Scholars?
@Dude1511 You can see my DD’s stats on the thread shared above, and she was accepted as an LC Scholar and at Andover.
