I've wondered just how College Admissions people view LEAD and other " paid for " summer programs. Do they see them as an enhancement or as a way for wealthy parents to buy polish for otherwise dull resumes?

The program itself looks interesting, but then so do many others.

Well, i had the same question but think about it.

There are only 30 spots per school. Which means you are competing for 150 spots.
The 3 week course is 900 dollars. If you think about it that barely covers food let alone "Tuition" and "Housing".

I think its not as prestigous as MITES or SASP or something. But its a decent and pretty highly regardged program. I will def go if i get accepted simply because the organization has 4 of the 8 schools im applying to.

I'm applying too- I hope that I get into the Stanford or Wharton one, that would be awesome.

Even though LEAD costs money, I have seen some CC threads that talk about how very prestigious LEAD is if you want to go to places like the Wharton School of Business. I know for sure that if you want to go to Wharton but don't really have a lot of business-related activities on your resume, LEAD definitely helps.
