Will the people who got accepted post their stats?

@binghulu262 have u received anything yet? im still waiting for mine

nope, not yet :(

Stats @binghulu262:

GPA/Academics: Good (4.02W)/ Mostly A’s and AP classes
HS: I live in Texas and attend a “reputable high school” as far as I know…
ECs: Band (5 yrs), Track (5 yrs.), Spanish (4 yrs), NHS, Spanish Honors Society, 350+ hours of community service, Humanitarian trip to Jamaica, Tutor, Boys & Girls Club Volunteer, and a job
Essays: Very good, I feel my essays played a large role in my acceptance…
Schools: I listed Upenn Wharton as my first choice, followed by a promise to attend any schools with an available spot
Rec Letters: My APUSH teacher and mentor wrote my rec letters and I believe they were very beneficial as an insight into my personality
Race/Gender: African American Female
Greatest Strength: Community Activism and Awareness
Greatest Weakness: PSAT scores (I DEFINITELY wasn’t a national merit), but I feel my scores were not seen as a direct reflection of my achievements, which were exemplified through my grades and essays

I feel absolutely privileged to attend this program and I am not taking it for granted… Just don’t give up!!! To be honest, I had all but convinced myself that I had been rejected and was genuinely surprised when I received an acceptance letter. I hope this helped! Buena Suerte <3

that’s great! thanks a bunch! :)

^Have you received your letter yet? If not, you should probably call LEAD for an update…

Even more fascinating than the LEAD summer experience is the selection process for the lead program:) is it like the NFL draft? Do you make it through a number of rounds? I take it that the ones who got notified early were the first round picks. It all remains to be seen, I suppose no news may be good news…but then
again, maybe not.
Good luck to all

^Did you apply to the LEAD program?

i got waitlisted -_-

Binghulu262: I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Thanks for starting this helpful thread, I am looking for possible summer programs for my daughter. She will be eligible next year. does anyone know if other competitive summer programs select in the same fashion? I think it would be nerve racking to wait like some of the applicants on this board. Why is it that some know and some do not?

Congratulations! I’m sure you will have a great time. Come back and give us a report after you complete the program.
