<p>I don’t know what part LEAD played in admissions. If you really want to know, from my group alone (there were 30 of us), people are going to Princeton, MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Cornell, UPenn, Northwestern, Columbia, Georgetown and other AMAZING schools. </p>
<p>LEAD definitely helped me in the sense that I was able to broaden my horizon. I probably would have never applied to these type of schools if it wasn’t for LEAD. LEAD definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone.</p>
<p>Don’t think of LEAD solely as a way to gain college admissions. If you’ve gotten into LEAD, you’re more than likely an exceptional student anyway. Think of it as a way to meet some of the most incredible people that you’ll ever meet, a way to gain networking skills and as a way to have one summer that you’ll never forget!</p>

<p>@bigshot: I think you’re reading into this too much. How LEAD affected gigi may be different from how it affects you. You are reading into a “prestige” factor, which doesn’t need to be. Sure LEAD is a nationally renown program and sure participating in LEAD will change you for the better and you will make contacts that you can keep for some time. Anything else is based on the individual themselves.

if not, then i think you are wayyyyyyy too focused on “prestige” and you seem to be joining things just be/c they “look good” on college applications.

<p>Wow really?! Yeah, you should have received that a while ago, since I got my financial aid today. It was pretty good… They’re paying for my travel and most of my tuition… I’m not complaining lol :)</p>

<p>I thought that Janice was going to send me something first, but when she didn’t I e-mailed her, and she responded like 2 days later with the forms… I had to send in tax forms write a letter, along with the form on thursday and they responded today, so its kinda prompt</p>

<p>Heyy smhh this thread is too dead lol… But yeah, I received two info packets, one was like forms for my parents and I to fill out, and the other was like the schedule and a preliminary assignment that the coordinators want us to do… On another note… I’m soo excited! I keep looking at my flight and the schedule for the 3 weeks thinking about how it will be like to go on a plane for the first timeee… I’m trying not to count down since that will make me seem more anxious, but I can’t help it lol…I was looking around, and I know that some LEAD SBIs have facebook groups and stuff, but I don’t know how to start one, so I’m waiting for someone else to start one for Northwestern lol :)</p>
