Leadership Award Overnight Stay Program Email?!

What does this mean? :-/ :-S

"Dear student applicant to The Leadership Award,

As you consider your college admissions decision, we invite you to save the date to experience student and campus life at UC Berkeley through the OVERNIGHT STAY PROGRAM (OSP), a 2-day campus visit organized by the Cal Alumni Student Association (CASA).

Please note that receiving this invitation does not in any way impact Admissions decisions, and your decision to attend OSP is contingent upon your admission to UC Berkeley. If accepted, you will receive an email from us on March 27 with instructions on how to register online at: http://alumni.berkeley.edu/osp.

The Overnight Stay Program provides the opportunity to experience all aspects of Cal student life:
- visit the UC Berkeley campus
- eat at residence dining halls
- attend classes & learn about campus resources
- speak with current Cal students, alumni, and faculty
- stay overnight with a Cal student in the dormitories
- partake in Cal traditions................."

Etc, etc, etc.

So... is this a good sign?? I've starred one portion of the email that I'm not sure about... judging from what it said, I don't think it means a definite acceptance, since it DOES say that it has nothing to do with the actual admissions decision...................

Still, a guy can hope... right? :-SS

I got that as well… Oh my god is this even a good sign or is this just a tease. :frowning:

is it sent to all applicants ? i also got the email

Okay so I checked out some earlier threads, and apparently it’s sent to every Leadership Award applicant… From what I saw, MOST people who got the mail got accepted, but there WERE a few rejections.

Considering my luck, I’m pretty sure that I’ll be one of the rejections :(

It says all the way at the bottom of the email “This program is completely separate from the UC Berkeley admission selection process as well as The Leadership Award selections process. You are receiving this email because we thought you might be interested in this opportunity.”

@SmoothAl yeah, I read that… I was just hoping that it miiiight possibly be a good sign…

Yea, I understand. Best of luck to you.

yeah for UCSD most, if not all, people who got the overnight email were accepted.

is there anyone who applied for the leadership award that did NOT get this email?

@SmoothAl, thanks :)

Wait, I may actually know someone who applied and hasn’t received it… I’ll check with her again

@jkimzo To answer your question - apparently there is.

they sure do emphasize how it has no impact

From what I’ve seen everyone who applied gets one. Very disappointing I know…

@gman333 I applied and have not received the mail… So maybe it does mean something…

OR maybe they aren’t sending it out to international applicants…

I am feeling so left out of things … I got invited to apply for UCB Regents’ and UCLA Regents’ plus both Leadership/Alumni Award things … I didn’t get the UCLA engineering likely letter or the UCB leadership email. sighhhhh

@evidentlyme And you’re not the only one. I have a friend who didn’t get it either, and neither did @aks2014. @gman333, take hope! I’m not sure what it could mean, though… I’m not a particularly spectacular student or anything :-/

@evidentlyme You’re in a better position than us! You’re already into Berkeley!

@evidentlyme Whoa, congratulations!!

@gman333 Here’s to angsting for the next ten days! ;)

My S did not get the email either.
