hi i'm a junior from a small town (around 35000)in oklahoma
my dream schools are ives...JHU , northwestern... amherst....
i'm preparing my SAT pretty well.
but our lil small school really doesn't have much clubs to offer
i mean i'm in a bunch of ec that doesn't show leadership, and it seems like every "chances" post is filled with students in various clubs(key club, math club..science club...film club...blablabla , or national essay or speech competitions...)
my question is, am i doing enough? if not how can i change that? my GC really doesn't have mucch to tell me. what is considered a "leadership ec"?
here is a list of my ec (i've various different small awards)
1.student council,
2 spanish club,
3 spanish honors society,
4 NHS
5 volunteer at local hospital,
6 concert master in our orchestra,
7 member of the bartlesville symphony(not school's, the "Bartlesville" symphony, we are actually quite good and we've played with many big names... itzak perlmen ,lara stjohn, joshua bell, jaime loredo, marvin hamlish.....)
8. Varsity cross country
9. Church league basketball team

you have a good spread of ecs. being a concert master is leadership. Try to get one more position like president, VP, secretary, etc and you're set.

come on guys

If your school doesn't offer many clubs, you should start a club like Amnesty International.

Our school is kinda like yours, except we probably have fewer actual clubs (not including sports) and the worse part is that none of the clubs offer leadership positions except NHS and Key Club. Starting a club is a great way to start. If you are doing the best you can, I don't think colleges will penalize you for that.

what kind of club should i start, like amnesty international? is that consider a leadership type club??

Leadership = being a leader (aka an officer like president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, historian, publicity officer, etc) in any club. There's no such thing as "leadership clubs".
