Is there still a rolling admissions policy? If so, how long do you think I have to apply until I miss the deadline for the first batch being sent in?
If you attended in past years, do you think it was worth it?
Is it easier to get in if you’re a girl?
Is there a specific form/format for the teacher recommendations? I would find them in the application, but I’m reluctant to click the ‘continue’ button and find out because I don’t want all my scores/essay in there permanently.
Do they want the weighted or unweighted gpa?
Should the gpa include any quarter/semester grades we’ve received far in our junior year?

Thanks, and if you’re applying too, good luck!

Yes it is possible to get financial aid, some got full. Need based

It is rolling yes so send it ASAP after you can. I don't think they start accepting till january. The first batch comes out in april I think and then the rest in march.

Uhh I went last year. It was seriously by far the best month of my life. I met the most amazing people who I still keep in close contact with, and it just amazing. You really make lifetime friendships and you learn a **** load about business. On top of all that, you experience UPenn which is amazing. DOOO IT

Not really sure if its easier to get in if your a girl. Don't think it would be. They take 30 guys and 30 girls. Depends on how many guys and girls apply in a certain year.

No specific format. Just give them the form and have them right a letter.

Not really sure. Give them what your school provides. My school only gives weighted so that's what I gave.

GPA should be as up to date as possible I think.

On another note, I know the head counselor this year will be TRang and she's amazing so be excited to meet her!
Also, a piece of insider info: the essay is the most important part of the application by far. Make sure it's good and really show your interest and capacity to be a leader. Many people at LBW had average or low SAT scores but got in because of their excellent essay's.

GOOD LUCK to all LBW 2007 applicants. It's an amazing experience.

Wait, form? What form are you talking about?
I'm finding that the LBW website isn't very intuitive... is there additional information I could get somewhere?

I've noticed the same thing, gzhang, but I haven't found any additional resources. =(

I have another question, though, for anyone who's willing to respond and attended in the past: what's it like developing an original business plan? Do you actually have to come up with a product too, or is it just a business plan? Any tips or hints are appreciated too, and thanks!

The form should be able to be found on the page where you apply. If not just email them and ask them. Maybe they changed it.

As for the business plan, this is what happens. They break you up into about 6 teams of 10. Within these teams, you brainstorm and develop a product/service that you all agree upon and you make a business plan on that product dealing with the marketing, finance, management, and basically everything on it. Within your groups, you also elect a CEO, CFO, COO, etc. You work on the business plan the 2nd part of the month though. First they teach you kind of how to make one and the stuff about it. The last 2 days, you present your business plans to a group of venture capitalists (investors) and then they choose the best 3 presentations/business plans and they "win". It is a GREAT learning experience.
