See you all next fall at Wharton. (I'll be visiting to catch up with those of you who got in).

Haha Jing^2... I loved it!!!!! Im freaking about the essays!! but whatever... Uhmmm look... to my advantage I'll say not to apply!... but... I mean evaluate how much you liked LBW... do you want to live a similar experience for 4 yrs? I do... Wharton/Penn IS the place for me...

Guys... wow I want to be at the quad, huntsman, locust, crossing the street,... waiting for the red light to appear.. or crossing with the red light... feeling the sun after being in a very cold classroom for several hours... hearing about white african americans... ahh!

uhm...

Oh. yes... do you realize this is the longest thread in the Penn forum??
Yai!!!!

Hey!
Ok so i want to go to LBW this summer (07) and i want to know what it took everyone to get in???? I have good marks and tons of extra curriculars but i dont really know what they look for specifically.... And was it worth it?
I dont want to apply if it was a waste of a month!! And im applying as a foriegn student ... did they let in lots of kids who weren't american?
Thxxxxxxx!

heyyy hahah is really funny that now Im on the other side.... and instead of being really freaked out now Im the one who answers the questions...

LBW...
- best summer experience ever
- once in a lifetime opportunity
- will meet people from all over the world and will make famazing friends
- all people or most are business oriented, freakin smart, and the best,
socially extroverted!
- proffesors... the best ones.. however you might hear someone
saying "white african american"... well honestly... sometimes people slept
during lectures
- amount of foreign students... around 20%... including me!! from Mexico
- its worth every single dollar... and hey.. theres financial aid!
- being a foreign student helps bc they do want diversity...
- I cant tell you what will get you in... most were overachievers u know...
some people were inzanely smart.. others didnt submitted evn SAT scores
and got in. people with almost perfect SAT scores didnt got in. Its similar
college admissions.. u never know!!!!

In conclusion.... ill summarize it into one word: APPLY!

FYI: I talked to Dean Stetson and he said the LBW means nothing in Penn admissions.

Ok! so i should submit my PSAT and sat scores? I am only going to take my PSAT in october....... and then the SAT in november or december... i have already taken courses and everything for it
Thats cool that you meet so many people! i know someone from mexico named Bernardo!
thanks for the advice!!!!

Hey,
Bernardo I have to agree with you, this is weird. The program is definetly worth it. It's probably true that going to LBW doesn't mean you'll get into Wharton, but the program lets you experience so much about Wharton and gives you so much info that when you get around to writing your essays, it's really really helpful. (why you want to go to penn topic, which professor would you like to study with)
I don't think they starting taking apps until January. I submitted my SAT and PSAT scores and I took the SAT in Nov. so I guess you can send both in though i think you only need PSAT.
You should apply. I had such an amazing time that I think I'm going to apply ED when before this summer, I was going to apply elsewhere early.

excel... I never said there was a link between LBW and Penn admissions...

on the wharton website you can look at the schedule of the LWB program.... but it never says what you do on Saturday and sunday! what did you all do on the weekends this summer?
