No mail yesterday from LBW. The postman asked me what I was looking for and I told him. He thought about it and then helpfully advised me that if I applied for a job at the WalMart and worked hard I might get promoted to assistant manager .....Leadership in the Business World. Not bad advice and it doesn't cost 5200 dollars.

Now that the deadline has passed, maybe they'll give us an answer.
I think they are waiting to hear back from their #1 candidates that they took early. Those people, in turn, are waiting to hear from Telluride, etc. before committing their summer.

I've learned from this to apply Early Decision to a college because I hate the evil manipulation. Here I am. Tell me yes or no and tell me by a set date.

It may take decades, but I will rise to a position of power in a big company. When I do-NO WHARTON GRADS on my management team.

do you think it would be too late to send in my sat scores on april 17th because I think i got a 2100+ and that would be a huge jump from my psats

Here is why posting Stats are worthless:
a) Many people have gotten in with various ranges. 1600s get rejected all the time from college. 1300s can get in over that 1600 student.
b) More important factors are considered: coarse load, transcript, and ECs
c) Sometimes as long a true "voice" is shown on an essay, colleges are impressed.
--I hope i've proven the point so others are not unnecessarily worried or deceived about chances.
If you have questions I will be happy to answer them.

Hey,
I got my letter today. YAY! Actually they only sent the letter so it was a little thin envelope and I totally thought I got rejected. But I didn't! Yay again. Anyway, I hope other people got their letters today too. Hey lbw2, are you going?
About the stats thing, you've still gotta admit that stats are somewhat important. Like you can't expect to get in with a SAT of like 1000 out of 2400 and still get in the competitive places. My theory is you just have to get over a certain bar unless you have extenuating circumstances. For example, I totally bet that you, lbw2 have great or at least very good stats.
But I agree, don't be a stats whore (ok apologies for the language).
Good luck to everyone else.

No letter and probably no hope.
redvines and lbw2, I'm glad for you.
I'm kind of sad now because I don't have alot of other options this summer. Haven't done this in a while but I took one of my Dads beers out of the fridge. He won't notice and I need to chill.

Bernardo: i think I can provide you with an answer to your question regarding "the envelope" haha. I also received a very thin envelope ( i was so nervous). It was a single paged congratulations letter notifying me that a spot was reserved pending on a 300 dollar deposit. It went on to describe the applicant pool and how it was very selective this year as well. I hope that answered your questions. Shoot if you have anymore...

Plus maybe it's just mail speed. Like benardolw, don't you like overseas or something like that? Maybe the mail just takes longer where you live. Aeon: there's still time to look for other options. I got my summer internship last year in like the end of may, so maybe you'll get lucky! My letter was dated March 31,2006- which is only one mail day to today and we seem to have submitted our apps around the same time. Plus beer is kind of nasty. bleh!

hey,
