What is generally considered better, a leadership position in the high school newspaper or a foreign language? This is even if you already speak a language along with English fluently. I'm having a hard time figuring out which is better, since some colleges preper that you do a foreign language for four years in high school.

what do you feel you will enjoy more?
if you love learning languages, i'd obviously go with that. but if you like newspaper, then go with newspaper.

Well, I'm pretty sure I can't do both since just taking one would be through independent study. I honestly love newspaper more, but I've learned that colleges advice you do a foreign language. However, I'm already fluent in Spanish.

I'd say either but if I had to pick I would say leadership in foreign language. I may be a little biased though because I will be president of French club next year.

if you are already bilingual it shouldn't be as important to take a language. take the AP, SAT, and any other spanish tests, so the colleges don't worry that you didn't take it.

Can you take the AP Spanish test even if you didn't take the class? Also, even if colleges recommend four years of a foreign language class, they won't look down on you if you don't take four years?
