LEAP program

I'm new to CC and I am hoping to get accepted to University Park for next year. I heard about the LEAP program and was very interested in what it had to offer. I just wanted to ask if anybody has been through the program or knows about it and has some input on if it is worthwhile or not. I like the idea of being able to learn about the campus with not as many students there as in the fall. Any personal experiences or just ideas about LEAP?

I personally did not do LEAP but I know of a few kids that have. There are a few benefits of starting in the summer. The biggest benefit is that if you don't get accepted to main for the fall, there's a better chance you'll get accepted for the summer. You'll get used to campus, dorm life, make some friends, etc. You'll have some easier classes because typically summer classes are easier than fall and spring. You'll have some credits out of the way for your next fall semester, lightening your course load. You'll also have more credits than most incoming freshmen which will allow you to schedule a couple days before most other freshmen. The negatives of LEAP are obvious, you'll be giving up your summer and the dorms are hot as hell b/c of no AC.

My best advice is to apply asap.

Thank you for the input. I'm planning to apply as soon as school starts because I know that Penn State admissions can receive sooo many more applications than they can accept students.
