How could I go about learning a new language?
Has anyone used a program/online software that ACTUALLY worked?

Thanks.

I’m on the same boat as the OP.

I have the Rosetta Stone software, but I was wondering if getting a beginner’s book (the book for the entry level language in my school) will work better.

I’d personally recommend following a systematic sequence (say, a series of books from the same publisher, ranging from the beginner’s level to advanced). You can check your local bookstore for such titles. Also, find a few supplementary titles to complement your learning (like a children’s storybook if your level of proficiency is still somewhat low, or something like Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys in that language for intermediate level learners). And try to find a native speaker to tutor you if at all possible – that works wonders for your fluency in speech and pronunciation. :)

What would you like to learn?
For basic phrases and expressions: [Learn Spanish, French, German, Italian and over 70 languages with Byki software.](<a href=“Byki discontinued | Transparent Language”>http://www.byki.com/)
If you want to do a language exchange: [InterPals Penpals :: Make friends online and find free pen pals from around the world!](<a href=“InterPals: Meet the World. Make friends, travel and learn languages today!”>http://www.interpals.net/)

[Language Learning with Livemocha | Learn a Language Online - Free!](<a href=“Official Rosetta Stone® - Language Learning - Learn a Language”>http://www.Livemocha.com/) is pretty good, but it really doesn’t explain grammar.

[e Language School |](http://www.elanguageschool.net/) has loads of resources!

OP is a SCAMMER, this is unrelated but do not send him any tests or materials of any kind. You won’t hear from him again.
