I hear from a lot of people that AP Stat is pretty much having the common sense to apply basic formulas, easy enough to self-study. Still, I signed up for the class this year actually being interested in the topic, and I would like to get as much out of it as possible -- is there anyone who's taken the class who can recommend a complementary or "post-AP stat" textbook/materials that can actually teach some real college-level statistics?

You can look at your local university’s statistics course offerings. For example, at MIT we have 18.05 and 18.440, two introductory probability and statistics courses. A quick search will take you to the course page which has some reading.

More in-depth or advanced statistics courses in college will typically have calculus as a prerequisite.
