So my daughter has been dragging her feet about joining a living/learning community and now is considering the Wellness Experience. I'm afraid she's past the May 1st deadline. Do you think she still has a shot?

Which dorm building in the south campus would you say is the nicest? I know there's a possibility of my D also getting a main campus dorm as well. Does anybody have input on those dorms as well?

Thank you!

My d did not join a Living/Learning Community and had no difference on what dorm she was assigned. I think you can join after May 1st. My d lives in Katherine and likes it. However, most triples are located in St. Monica and Katherine because they have the largest rooms. Hopefully you got your deposit in early. Tripling is assigned from the latest deposit date on backwards. Last year's freshman class was 50% tripled. My D being one of them. Not a great experience.

I would go ahead and apply even though it is past the deadline. Before my freshman year I sent in an e-mail asking if I could still apply. They said that they had more than enough applicants, but that I should apply anyway because they look for geographic diversity and being from the South could help get me accepted into a learning community. It worked and I was accepted to the one I applied to.

Momsworried and BMW323 - thanks those very helpful information.

I'm hoping we got our deposit in early enough...but with that 50% statistics last year with the triples and this year being worse, I've prepared my D about possibly getting a triple.

I also told her to go ahead and pursue the Living/Learning Community...and, unfortunately, it's AP exams week and she gave me that "I can't think about that right now, Mom!" look....if you know what I mean :-)

Thanks again!
