<p>how do they pick the students who get to be in one? is it by first come first serve?</p>

<p>My D just got the brochure and was interested in 3 learning communities she went to register and found all three were full! So they must choose by first come first serve. She put herself on the waiting list - so she’s hoping a spot opens up.</p>

yeah, it’s pretty much a “first-come, first-served” process. As of now (12:50 am on May 24), the Foundation for Medicine: Better Living through Chemistry?, Foundation for Medicine: Cells and Sensations, and Neurons, Chemicals, and the Brain Learning Communities are all “closed”).</p>
