I want to join a learning community next year at James Madison University
Mostly because in one of these programs I go to most my gen. eds with the people in my learning community,
Does anyone know what type of people do this?
I'm kinda dorky...shy, not so social at first, i thought it might be easier to meet people this way. Any thoughts?

What type of people? People who want to try something new. =)

There is nothing to feel ashamed about. I’m not social at first either and I’m joining a learning community as a junior (for French!). You might find it to be a good experience. So do it!

Thanks : D I think I will!

I don’t live in a learning community, but I live in something similar, where essentially all members of a club live in the same place. I’m guessing they’re reasonably similar though, in that you get a lot of like minded people in a group. They also tend to organize more activities and outings which makes it really easy to get to know people. And at least in my experience, all the people are incredibly friendly. Basically ever one I’ve gotten to know well is a member of this community, and it’s really helped make my college experience.
