In order to get the foreign language credit do you have to take that language at the university? Say for example I wanted to take a language Tulane does not off but a neighboring university/college does, can you take the language there?

The rule regarding taking courses at Loyola is that if it is something Tulane does not offer it is OK. From the on-line handbook:

If you are talking about taking courses at UNO or somewhere else, you would have to check with your advisor.

Other students may be interested in the specifics of what language you found being taught elsewhere and where that is.

Ah, thank you fallenchemist. I was actually looking into taking Turkish, found at UNO. However it seems I don’t get credit for taking the language at another university. Oh well, Russian it is!

If you really want Turkish I wouldn’t give up on it. You should talk to your advisor, they (the University) can and will sometimes allow you to pursue things like this and get credit following the same rules they state for Loyola, and personally I think it is worth at least asking. The biggest challenge you will likely face is logistics. UNO is not particularly close to Tulane like Loyola is. It’s about 10 miles and 30 minutes if you have a car, more time by bus of course.

Good luck! Have you definitely decided on Tulane then?
