Learning difficulty for Programming?

Hello all. I've been wondering, how hard is it to learn the basics of programming if you've had no experience or exposure to it? I've been trying to enroll in an introductory Comp. Sci. class, but have little hope of actually getting into the class, as it is major restricted and currently full.

Because of this, I was thinking that maybe teaching myself the basics, and still attending the lectures in my free time, would help me learn enough that I can take the next class in the series, which requires programming experience.

Anyone out there with any advice on how to go about this for an eager student?

its all dependent on the individual, for some, programming comes quite easily… for others there is a learning curve. Overall, if you have a passion for it and are a motivated learner you should have no problem honestly.

There are a ton of resources to learn programming. Codeacademy.com is a good one for beginners.

Well, if it helps, I’ve always excelled in mathematics, and numerical sciences, and had an unnatural sense of wonder when it came to computers lol

Codeacademy.com? Thank you very much, I will check it out right away! :)
