Learning disabilities at BC

Hello

My name is William and am a current high school senior. I recently visited Boston and fell in love with BC. My freshmen and sophomore year were complete disasters, averaging a 2.7 gpa. Before my Jr. year I was tested for ADD and put on medication, which made a world of difference, where i obtained a 3.5 gpa(at a very competitive Jesuit high school). I recently ran across BC’s program for learning disabilities and was wondering what the admission process was like and if they lowered their admission standards for students like myself. By the way, I achieved a 25 on my ACT, and have an impressive resume, with teachers writing that I am one of the hardest working students they have ever seen.

Any answers are appreciated!

For those interesting, the web site http://www.bc.edu/libraries/centers/connors/support/s-info/</a> has details on Admissions Information & Guidelines for Students with Learning Disabilities.

The article starts with the fact the curriculum is demanding and that there is no special alternate curriculum for students with Learning Disabilities. The fact is that your GPA equates to a C+ before diagnosis and a B+ post treatment. If you read the BC Class of 2011 admission thread, you will find that those grades, underscored with an ACT 25, are not typically accepted. Based on public literature, the ACT score is substantially below the mark for BC.

That said, your best course of action is to contact admissions NOW to discuss your personal situation. This is a case where you have so many parameters to consider, only an admissions counselor can provide a worthwhile opinion. Good luck!
