Learning the Campus

Since I've been here I've already been lost about 10 times. I seriously underestimated how HUGE this campus is.
Any tips on learning the campus and not looking like an idiot?

I’ve been there for a year and I still get lost lol.

The best way is just to learn the few main streets (Shaw, Farm Ln, Red Cedar Rd, and Wilson Rd) and then learn where a few key things are.

That might help.

You’ll eventually get a feel for where things are, just by simple trial and error :).

Or if you’re like me, you still use the GPS on your phone to try to get to a dorm lmao.

I would recommend just going out and exploring the campus. Do it everyday and you’ll get a feel for where everything is. It gets easier the longer you’re there :)

I would suggest once you know where your classes are scheduled, go for a practice run and at least find the buildings- this way you know how far it is and how long it takes to get there, plus then you won’t have to worry so much about getting lost your first few days. And if the buildings are open, go ahead and find the classroom/lecture hall; this may seem stupid but I’ve gotten lost in some of the buildings on the first day (some of them are confusing because of the different wings/ levels, for example, South and North Kedzie is really ambiguous). Also give yourself lots of extra time to get to class at first so if you get lost you won’t also be late.
