Learning vocabulary - which book should I use?

Hi! I am an international student preparing for the SAT.
Currently I am trying to improve my vocabulary.
I printed out MajorTests ten vocabulary lists and have covered three lists so far.
Recently, I bought SAT Vocabulary for Dummies. I am wondering which list will help me more while preparing for the SAT in your opinion?
Thank you in advance for answering :)

I haven’t researched to much into SAT Vocabulary books, but I’m currently using this one:
[Amazon.com: Vocabulary Cartoons II: SAT Word Power (9780965242240): Sam Burchers, Bryan E. Burchers: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Vocabulary-Cartoons-II-Word-Power/dp/0965242242/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1344104198&sr=8-3&keywords=vocabulary+cartoons)
The drawings are pretty helpful and they make it much easier to memorize the words. I read like one section from this book a day and then review every past section to see how much I still remember, and I remembered a bunch of the words. Also, my English teacher in Sophomore year gave us some tips on how to memorize vocabulary words much more easily and this is the only one I remember: learn the words right before you go to sleep, it helps the memorization process if its the last thing you did for the day.

^all you need.

Thank you very much!
If somebody had any experience in learning both from MajorTests lists and SAT Vocabulary for Dummies, by any chance, please tell me which one is better in your opinion. I would be very grateful :)

You might want to look into study software. It is really useful for learning new vocabulary and will give you an edge for studying in college. Study Genius Software is the highest rated software and comes with a huge ACT and SAT vocabulary list.

After I took 2 real SATs and made some mistakes in sentence completions because I didn’t understand the words I was frustrated. To prepare for my next SAT I decided to try Direct Hits (both books) and imagine my frustration when I saw that all those words I missed were in DH books!! If I had learned Direct Hits before my attempts on real SATs I could have had better scores… Now I am taking the vocabulary learning from Direct Hits very seriously. I am sure it will help me to finish sentence completions in the next SAT with minimum frustration and confusion.
